Welcome to MES College Library

The central Library of MES College Marampally is a hub for information services, providing a reader-friendly ambience supporting the academic pursuits and research activities of the institute. It is located in a beautiful landscape of lush green plants spans over an area of 803.6 sq. m across two floors, offers an atmosphere of serenity. The library's facilities include a reference section, spacious reading room and a network resource center.

The library's collection is both extensive and specialized, comprising 20597 books covering 14553 unique titles. Moreover, it subscribes to 66 print journals and encompassing a digital archive of over 100000 e-resources, including a plentitude of over 6000 e-journals and nearly 6000 books in Kindle. In addition to these resources, the library offers a repository of periodicals, academic journals and their back volumes, newspapers, CDs, rare books, and an ever-refreshing "New Arrivals" section.

Reading Room occupies 120 seats, while the Network Resource Centre revolutionized the tutelage with interactive classes and internet access. Equipped with 30 nodes and 25 computers, students can download, scan, and print resources. Furthermore, there's a provision for reprography facilities, a media lab, surveillance cameras for security, and barcoding scanners for efficient management.

The library's online presence at www.lib.mesmarampally.org enhances accessibility by offering databases, audio books, e-resources, institutional repositories and other valuable information. Users can easily search for materials using the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) tool. Additionally, a Plagiarism Checker, Turnitin, assists verification of the originality of projects and dissertations.

The various functions of the library is automated by the ILMS software KOHA which enables users to reserve, renew, and recommend books online. Through NLIST of INFLIBNET, registered users gain off site access to extensive collection of e-journals, e-books, and electronic resources. Furthermore, the library subscribes to the DELNET database, offering access to e-books, periodicals, CD-ROM databases, open-access journals, Intel library loan and documents delivery service and digital libraries.

Accessibility is a priority, with provisions for students with disabilities, includes volunteer readers, Non-Visual Desktop Access (NVDA), Kibo scanner and Kibo XS to empower visually impaired students to listen, translate and digitize hard copies of printed and handwritten in real time and a ramp at the entrance to facilitate the access of Divyangjan users. The library continually strives to inculcate new users to its services by hosting events, offering lectures on research ethics, seminars on IPR and various other educational topics.

The library houses a book bank with the partnership of Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), making 2,131 books available to financially compromised students. It also extends its resources to BLiSc and MLiSc students from neighboring institutions, providing training for their academic dissertations. Basic amenities such as drinking water, property counter are readily available within the library premises. It operates every day except Sundays and public holidays, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The library fosters a reading culture through creative activities, celebrating Reading Day and recognizing outstanding readers with the Best Library User Award.
